On April 30, 2013, Dr. Kauvar will be receiving the Virtual Volunteer Award from Sanctuary for Families, the largest non-profit agency in New York State dedicated exclusively to serving domestic violence victims, sex trafficking victims and their families. Dr. Kauvar has been treating one of Sanctuary’s clients to remove a tattoo with her trafficker’s name. She feels privileged to help in this young woman’s recovery by removing a mark that serves as a constant reminder of her physical and emotional anguish. Read more about the award here.

Dr. Arielle Kauvar gave several lectures this past weekend at the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Mastery of Lasers Course. She covered a range of topics, including laser treatment of vascular and pigmented lesions, and a talk on the future of laser technology.

Dr. Kauvar will be giving eight different laser dermatology lectures to her peers at the annual meeting of the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, which is held this year in Boston from April 4-7. In addition to speaking on topics from laser controversies to cutting edge innovations, she will also present two papers of her own clinical research results, one on the treatment of port wine stains and the other on a device for the improvement of facial skin.April 1, 2013
Dr. Kauvar was quoted in several stories in Allure magazine's April 2013 special issue on anti-aging. She discussed ways to brighten your skin with lasers and skin care, and eliminating spider veins and the leaky blood vessels that cause them using sclerotherapy. Pellevé is a technology that safely and effectively delivers skin tightening, smoothing and firming via a series of non-invasive, painless procedures with no downtime and immediate and long-term results. The best results are achieved in mildly to moderately wrinkled, dull and/or lax skin, yielding firmer, tighter and more glowing skin using radiofrequency energy. This technology heats the deeps layers of the skin just enough to stimulate collagen changes without damaging the top layer of epidermis.
