Elizabeth Dao, MD

Elizabeth Dao, MD is a board-eligible dermatologist specializing in medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology joining New York Laser and Skin Care in the fall of 2026.

Originally from New Orleans, she graduated with honors from Tulane University with dual degrees in Neuroscience and Piano Performance. She then earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where she was elected into the national medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. She went on to complete her dermatology residency in the Texas Medical Center at the combined University of Texas and MD Anderson Cancer Center program, where she served as Chief Resident of Cosmetics.

Dr. Dao provides comprehensive dermatologic care for both adults and children and treats a wide range of conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss, vitiligo, and skin cancer. Her training at the top cancer center in the world provided extensive experience in diagnosing and treating melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancers, and rare cutaneous malignancies. She is passionate about delivering high quality, evidence-based care and partnering with each patient to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to their individual goals. With a conservative, artistry-driven approach to aesthetics, Dr. Dao is dedicated to creating elegant, undetectable results that enhance natural beauty rather than alter it.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Dao has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, and has presented her research nationally, with a particular interest in oncodermatology. She values mentorship and education and will join the faculty at NYU Grossman Department of Dermatology to train the next generation of dermatologists.

She looks forward to joining Dr. Kauvar in guiding the patients of New York Laser and Skin Care to healthy skin and natural, confidence-enhancing results.
